This year the Zoo received an early gift, the birth of a healthy baby White-handed Gibbon, the first in a decade to be born at the Zoo.
In July, the Zoo finished construction and opened a brand new habitat for the endangered species of primate. The ape family is native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. The new baby boy can be seen daily with his mother Buttercup and father Tango. Guests can watch the baby use his long arms and strong grip to hang on tight to mom while she swings through the air.
