Baby Giraffe Born at Gulf Breeze Zoo
Oh baby! The Gulf Breeze Zoo is excited to welcome Greta, the 7th Giraffe born at the Zoo
Greta, a short baby, born at 5'6" and weighing 126 lbs, is known for her calm and sweet demeanor. The Zoo's Giraffe tower, (a tower is a term for a group of Giraffe) serves an important role in giving a voice to their wild counterparts. In Northern Kenya, populations are rebounding from an estimated decline of nearly 80% in the past 30 years. The Gulf Breeze Zoo provides financial support to conservation programs and maintains healthy genetics for insurance populations. Greta can be viewed daily, weather dependent, in the Giraffe exhibit.
